What is a Craft?
Crafts mean different things to different people. It can mean anything from fine arts to paper projects that you may do with your kids. Craft as a word literally means skill. A crafter produces articles using his or hands and simple tools. Each piece is produced one at a time.
Crafting requires a creative process and a skill. A crafter uses the creative process to create unique design and skill to execute it. Craft items are made from all types of materials like glass, metal, plastic, etc. Craft items may be decorative or utilitarian. They may be appreciated purely for their aesthetic value or they may be used in day-to-day life. Fine paintings are used for home décor. Baskets may be used not only to decorate but also for storage.
